Bitcoin–Nasdaq Coupling Index
A compact view of how closely BTC and the Nasdaq Composite have moved together on recent trading dates.
How the score works
We calculate daily close-to-close returns on dates where the Nasdaq traded. The index combines 75% positive Pearson correlation strength with 25% direction agreement above a 50% baseline. A high score means recent positive co-movement was stronger; it does not predict the next move.
Data & interpretation
Nasdaq Composite daily closes are retrieved from FRED, sourced from Nasdaq. BTC spot closes use Binance public market data with Coinbase as a fallback. Only derived statistics are displayed here.
Important: correlation is not causation. Macro events, liquidity, earnings and crypto-specific news can break the relationship quickly.
